Responsibilities Monitor and track obligations and expenditures throughout the budget execution phase. Review data provided by supervisors and managers and consolidate provided information into summaries and/or reports. Maintain and review financial documents and complete training to be able to process transactions in the automated financial system. Serve in support role for travel, timekeeping, correspondence, and training. Assist with day-to-day operations and maintenance of facilities. Assist in the oversight of maintenance/janitorial contracts for the facilities. Perform routine/simple inspections, tests and/or preventative maintenance of office equipment, security systems. etc. Serve as barracks/seasonal housing coordinator for the field office. Schedule and dispatch motor vehicles and monitor the overall status of the fleet to include vehicle repairs, inspections, and maintenance as needed. Ensure appropriate records are maintained and monthly reporting requirements are met. Purchase supplies and equipment using acquisition procedures through the DOI integrated charge card program. Coordinate with contracting staff in purchasing supplies over micro-purchase thresholds. Assist employees on the submission of purchase requests. For GS-06: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Experience with time keeping. Ability to prepare records for processing. Experience using electronic calendars to schedule. Respond to inquiries from the public. Compile information from a variety of sources to prepare reports. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Physical Demands: The work is typically sedentary. Some work may require periods of walking, standing, bending, or driving a motor vehicle. The incumbent may frequently lift relatively light boxes, materials, and supplies and/or carry file folders, copied materials, books, and other similar materials. Work Environment: Work is typically located in an adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated office environment. The work environment may involve everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, mail distribution centers, meeting and training rooms, libraries, or motor vehicles.
