The Geo Stormwater is seeking for a Business Development Manager to join our team. General areas of responsibility include developing and implementing sales and market strategies; identifying potential customers; managing existing customer and vendor relationships; and monitoring customer and competitor activity and industry trends.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a business plan that identifies key influencers/decision-makers while fostering and forming strategic up-funnel relationships with Engineers and Owners, EPCs, and contractors to enhance future market positioning and be consistent with the organization's overall mission, vision, and objectives.

  • Primary focus in the Gulf Coast US Region (TX/LA/FL) with a secondary focus on providing support nationally as required by the Manager/Director.

  • Engage primary Owner/Operators to identify key personnel within each firm to further uncover pending, future ongoing energy projects. These personnel positions would include project managers, construction managers, soil stabilization engineers, on-site project engineers, and procurement personnel.

  • Represents Ferguson Waterworks at Energy events, and organizations, and actively serves on relevant committees that provide mutual mid to long-term value while identifying key influencers and establishing trusted advisor status with them.

  • Leverage resources for market intelligence on land acquisition and permitting for future Energy Projects including registering for RFQs as a qualified bidder with key EPC procurement firms, as needed.

  • Monitors and develops market strategies for the Energy Market. Act as a liaise with the Marketing department to develop and implement marketing, campaigns, and outreach plans for the organization's products/services to meet established targets.

  • Analyzes promotional effectiveness and uses the information to develop or revise category plans as well as individual marketing and sales account plans.

  • Obtain needed professional development and technical training from key vendors for various products and solutions.

  • Obtain key information (civil site plan set, specifications, typical cross sections, geotechnical data, etc.) to determine optimal applications to engineering/re-engineer using engineering solutions.

  • Define an opportunity-specific commercial strategy tailor-made to each influencer/decision-maker based on the project stage. Then presenting that formal strategy to them through Lunch N’ Learns seminars or other means including regular connection and follow-up with them.

  • Liaise with manufacturers and vendors to ensure our sourcing programs meet business needs.

  • Capture specific opportunity-specific information within the company CRM. This includes developing and implementing a communication rhythm internally to prevent disparate pricing and/or solutions from being issued outside primary solutions, including sharing backlogs, trends, and forecasts with leadership and their teams.

  • Collaborate on the Energy Market among different customer groups within Ferguson, including but not limited to Waterworks, Plant, Industrial, and National Accounts.

  • Monitor sales trends, product performance, and market pricing to determine competitive strategies accurately. Provide market intelligence support to analyze and develop business plans for market sector growth and/or acquisition.

  • Handles achieving volume and share targets for assigned projects by creating and executing the category management plans including staying up to date on the latest in geo & stormwater technologies.

  • Support Operations leadership in the best practices of Project Management.

  • Assists in the negotiation of contractual arrangements, both with Vendor Partners and Owners/Clients

  • Responsible for the evolutionary approach for sales of one or more products/brands/go-to-market strategies of the company.

  • Participate in leadership meetings and represent associate concerns, policies, and guidelines to the management team. Ability to lead through influence in a matrix organization.

  • Conduct regular associate meetings.

  • Represent the organization to customers, associates, and leadership as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent experience preferred, MBA is a plus.

  • Professional Engineer license is a plus.

  • Committee and board member roles with industry associations is a plus.

  • Excellent oral and written presentation skills.

Pay Range:

Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.

$6,900.30 - $15,033.70

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
