Location: Sylmar, CA Duration: 6 months with possible contract to hire Description: We are seeking a Lab Technician to join the Packaging team, which manufactures plastic components for the sealants business. This individual will collaborate with another team member to conduct mechanical (physical property) tests on plastic packaging parts, including cartridges, syringes, and plungers. Responsibilities: Conduct tests to measure the dimensions of plastic parts using tools such as calipers, height gauges, and other custom-made equipment. Operate equipment like the Instron force tester to determine the resistance between moving plastic parts and a weight drop tester to assess the impact resistance of the plastic material. Record test results using basic Microsoft software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) on the lab computer or laptop. Perform physical tasks related to lab organization, including moving boxes, labeling, & arranging plastic part samples, and maintaining the workspace. A college degree is not required, but a high school diploma is necessary.
