Tri-County Health Care RN Clinical Nurse Educator in Wadena, Minnesota

Astera Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator (RN) with a passion to provide quality education to ensure safe, quality care for patients and families .

This is a full time, exempt position, scheduled at 80 hours bi-weekly. Hours generally 8:00am - 4:30pm with the occasional need to start earlier/later to accommodate night shift teams. Candidates must be willing and able to be on-site in Wadena, Minnesota.

Some responsibilities of the Clinical Nurse Educator include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Serves as a mentor, preceptor, educator, and leader providing education, training, and guidance to RN’s, LPN’s, HUC’s and CNA’s regarding safe and effective patient care, conducting procedures, competencies, and proficiency with procedures, and problem-solving regarding patient needs and delivering patient care.

  • Provides direct leadership with evaluation, revision, and implementation of the preceptorship program, policies, procedures, and protocols to accompany the learning modules being taught.

  • Represents ongoing education and competency need for Nursing. Initiates and ensures completion of competencies and certification/recertification of continuing education.

  • Evaluates and provides communication for the educational needs of Nursing staff including mandatory and elective programming.

  • Assists with planning, developing, teaching, and evaluating in-service and other education programs.

  • Serves as the main educator for Nursing programs

  • Provides leadership in the provision of safe and therapeutically effective nursing care to patients of all ages.

  • Coaches staff on the use of the nursing process and involvement in performance improvement opportunities.

  • May need to take a patient assignment with increased census and supervise on a regular basis.

    Education and experience required:

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN/BAN)

  • Current licensure as Registered Nurse (RN) in Minnesota

  • Maintain active BLS, CALS and ACLS Certifications
