Job Description:  As a Caregiver for a quadriplegic, you will play a crucial role in supporting our client's daily living activities and ensuring their overall well-being. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and strong caregiving skills, with a focus on maintaining professional boundaries and delivering safe and effective care. This role requires a high level of confidence and comfortable with maneuvering up to 50 pounds, has nurse delegation, and the ability to perform tasks such as bowel and catheter care, vital signs monitoring, and symptom management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide hands-on assistance with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility assistance.
  2. Perform bowel and catheter care according to established protocols and procedures.
  3. Administer medications and treatments under nurse delegation and maintain accurate documentation of care provided.
  4. Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and changes in the client's condition, promptly reporting any concerns to the nursing team.
  5. Assist with therapeutic exercises and positioning to prevent skin breakdown and promote comfort.
  6. Maintain a clean and safe environment for the client, following infection control practices and safety guidelines.
  7. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  8. Continuously evaluate and reassess the client's needs and preferences, adjusting care interventions as necessary.

Qualifications:

WA State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Care Aide (HCA) license is required.

Minimum of 2 years of experience providing care for clients with quadriplegia or similar disabilities preferred

Proficiency in performing bowel and catheter care, administering medications, and monitoring vital signs.

Strong communication and observational skills, with the ability to assess and respond to changes in the client's condition.

Ability to maintain professional boundaries and uphold confidentiality in all interactions.

Physical ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds safely.

Compassionate and patient-centered approach to caregiving, with a commitment to promoting independence and quality of life.
