Salary Range:$18.00 To 20.00 Hourly

What you will do:

Ferroglobe, a leading innovator in the production of silicon metal and related specialty alloys, is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Scale Master to join our team in Wallace, South Carolina. The Scale Master will be responsible for overseeing and managing all activities related to our industrial weighing systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.Safely operate a water truck within and around the facility.

  • Operate and manage the truck scale operations and associated software systems.
  • Ensure accurate weighing of materials entering and exiting the plant.
  • Maintain detailed records of all transactions and weights.
  • Coordinate with the logistics and warehouse teams to streamline incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Implement and uphold strict safety and operational procedures around the scale area.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on scales and related equipment to ensure functionality and accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to scale operations promptly.
  • Provide reports on scale activities, discrepancies, and system performances as required by management.
  • Assist in the training of new staff on scale operation procedures and compliance.

What we seek:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further technical or vocational training is a plus.
  • Experience in scale operations or a similar role in an industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of operational safety and regulatory compliance related to industrial scales.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and software used in industrial weighing.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Working Environment:

  • Performs jobs under varying conditions (dust, oil, grease, hot and humid temperatures, fumes, noise, etc.)
  • Ability to lift 50lbs, Floor to waist, Waist to shoulder. Overhead, Carry 20 feet
  • Wears proper PPE in the manufacturing area (shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection)
