This role will be supporting the CX organization at our client. This team is growing substantially and they are adding to their team! These product designers should have an interest in working on a-lot of different types of projects as they will not solely be hired for one thing. Our client is in the process of building out a design studio where their designers will work across several different products. Some examples would be, HMI, Mobile, Web, Connected vehicle & in-car experience products (think in the touchscreen of the vehicle), voice integration, etc. Potential candidates should come from digital experience and have experience and interest in supporting mostly B2C projects. This is an exciting area within our client that has a-lot of opportunity for designers who are looking for a challenge and environment that offers a variety of projects!

The initial project this person will start out on will be on the ePowered team. ePowered is the product lines specifically focused around General Motors EV capabilities, and will be supporting a number of projects focused around the advancement of their Electric vehicle interactions with both the car and charging stations.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Interaction Design, HCI, Ergonomics or related discipline

· 6+ years experience designing graphical interfaces

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to communicate broad concepts as well as fine detail through written and graphical media

· Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills

· Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently

· Good interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally

· Displays attributes of a critical thinker and leverages innovative ideas

· Ability to identify issues and problems, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis

· Proficient ergonomics experience (Heuristic evaluation, Criteria development)

· Proficient prototyping skills (software and/or hardware development experience a plus)

· Proficient experience in usability testing (developing and executing test protocols)

· Proficient in basic visual design principles and practices

· Proficient understanding of technology and the product development life-cycle

· Proficient with common design tools like Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, Sketch, Figma

Looking for someone who is eager to learn and grow in their career. This person needs to be collaborative and interested in working in a team environment. Any experience with SAFE Agile is also a plus, though not required.
