Aptiv US Services General Partnership Global Materials Manager in Warren, Ohio

The Role The Materials Manager must be a strategic thinker, encouraging their team to think outside the box to develop innovative materials and sustainable solutions. They will work with the North America engineering teams to support product development, launch and execution. Additionally, they will work with the global innovation teams to support Aptiv's sustainability roadmap and new product technology development needs. Responsibilities include: Global Materials Engineering Management Work with Global Core engineering, Supply Chain Management, Electrical Distribution Systems, Advanced Safety & User Experience, Corp, Interconnect Automotive Solutions Sustainability initiatives and actions - tracking system, supplier identification, coordination of global team actions/goals Global Materials meetings with innovation teams and regional teams to align strategy MSpec coordination/approvals by segment with BOD/complexity management IT system updates for CNs, GSD, QS Regional Materials Management: Supplier Management: Qualify and manage suppliers to avoid cost increases, develop F2 sourcing, and implement second sourcing and localization strategies. Innovation: Lead resin development, plating innovation, and the identification and development of sustainable materials. Failure Analysis and Fixes: Manage MCIP, qualification of new suppliers, MSpec substitutions, and insourcing MSpecs to Plant 7. Support Flow 3/4/5 processes and handle ECOs, DRT reviews, F3X, ADP, material recommendations and approvals, and risk mitigation. Cost Estimations: Provide quarterly updates on NA cost estimating material numbers and COGM figures from Plant 7. Environmental Health and Safety: Ensure elimination of materials added to hazardous substance lists. CAPEX Projects and PXRB: Oversee CAPEX projects related to Plant 7, Flow 5, analytical lab, contact physics lab, and testing equipment. Internal/External Audit Support: Manage lab scope and equipment calibration schedules for the analytical lab. Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits. North America Materials Budget Planning: Plan and manage the North America materials budget. Team Management: Oversee team management tasks including OTR, headcount planning, and team development. Ensure adherence to Aptiv guidelines, rules, and legal regulations and laws.
