How will you make an impact?

As a member of the Global Supplier Quality organization, the Supplier Quality Sr. Manager will be a catalyst into the global performance management program at Thermo Fisher. ​You will work closely with a cross functional team to quickly mitigate and deploy critical actions. The Supplier Quality Sr. Manager will be a member of the extended leadership team and may lead or represent strategic projects or initiatives. A primary leader of people and processes to improve supplier performance, drive down cost of poor quality, ability to identify/leverage analytics and data for business problem solving and ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of partners.

What we do:

  • Lead and develop a distributed team of Supplier Quality Engineers of various levels and experience.

  • Drive knowledge expansion around category specific subjects to support revenue growth.

  • Continuously question and improve.

  • Collaborate with global and local functions to define actions and priorities for supplier related quality issues.

  • Be a champion of problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non‐conformances.

  • Actively participate in strategic supplier development based on risks identified through Supply Chain Risk Mitigation team.

Communicate Between Suppliers and Senior Management

  • Strong passion to deliver results to improve.

  • Develop deep partnerships with key internal customers and earning trust.

  • Develop supplier relationships to generate and implement quality improvements.

  • Drive continuous improvement with procedures, policies and quality assurance methodologies.

Education Requirements:

  • B.S. Engineering/Operations Management, Biological Sciences preferred

  • Quality lead auditor training certificate preferred

Experience Requirements:

  • People management experience.

  • Supplier performance management.

  • Knowledge of ISO 13485 required and 21 CFR Part 820 preferred.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English language required.

  • Understanding of six sigma tools such as 8D, FMEA, DMAIC, Value Stream Map and Pareto Analysis preferred.

  • Experience in business and quality management systems (i.e. SAP, TrackWise, etc.).

  • Strong presentations skills preferred.

Working Contacts:

  • High level of contact with all local and global departments.

  • Frequent interaction with suppliers.

  • Collaborate with other departments on matters relating to supplier quality issues. This involves working with people at all levels within the organization as well as external customers and regulatory bodies.

Working Conditions / Travel Requirements:

  • Visits to factories wearing PPE, including cleanroom PPE

  • Frequent travel required (domestic/international)
