GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

The Testing Assistant is responsible for coordinating testing operations; responsibilities may include assisting with day-to-day testing operation of a campus center. They are responsible for proper testing procedures, test security, and for returning completed exams to faculty.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages and administers tests for placement testing.

Manages and administers tests for students with testing accommodations. This responsibility may include the taping, enlarging, or scribing of tests or administering the use of specialized software or assistive technologies. May include reading tests aloud to students.

Manages make-up tests for students as requested by faculty.

Maintains records of testing participants.

May assist in operational management of testing center or testing-related duties.

Participates in assigned training in order to administer college placement testing.

Other duties may be assigned.

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience

Minimum one year clerical experience required. Requires some knowledge of computer hardware and software. Knowledge and/or experience with special needs students, individual learning styles and appropriate instructional accommodations helpful.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to work effectively with diverse student population, and cooperatively with faculty and staff. Ability to work well independently. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity.

Additional Information:

RELATIONSHIPS:

This position works closely with other college departments to provide students with testing support needs. The testing assistant works closely with faculty and staff to coordinate student testing for traditional and online learning courses

SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This is a part-time, 8 hour per week position. This role is expected to provide services one day per week in the months of July, August and January. Position is compensated at a rate of $16.91/hour.
