Google Senior Software Engineering Manager, Google Cloud in Warsaw, Poland

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • Candidates will typically have 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).

  • Typically 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 5 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.

  • Candidates will typically have 5 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

  • Build, develop and manage a team of software engineers, make direct technical contributions, and provide guidance to team members. Guide the team through engaged priorities and balance short-term needs versus long-term strategic goals.

  • Develop the long-term technical goal and roadmap within, and often beyond, the scope of the teams. Evolve the roadmap to meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.

  • Delegate tasks effectively, empower team members to take ownership, and provide constructive feedback for continuous growth.

  • Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role and aligned to the broader organisation's goals. Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development and provide feedback and coaching.

  • Design and build reliable, highly available, maintainable, and scalable services.
