Microsoft Corporation Lease Center of Excellence Data Analyst in Washington D.C., District Of Columbia

Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind the Microsoft’s Cloud infrastructure and is responsible for innovating, planning, designing, building and operating one of the largest data center fleets in the world. We support product teams by providing a secure and compliant, cost efficient and highly available global infrastructure that Microsoft’s customers depend on.

We are seeking a Lease Center of Excellence Data Analyst responsible for the Leased datacenter portfolio who will be responsible for analyzing lease data to support strategic decision-making within the CO+I Lease Center of Excellence. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and provide insights that drive operational efficiency and effectiveness in lease management.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze lease data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the CO+I leasing portfolio.

  • Develop an understanding of the business, its data landscape, and the lineage of data across multiple areas.

  • Anticipate data requirements and seek insights beyond the obvious to understand complex business or data-related issues.

  • Identify and leverage connections across data sources to contribute to the development of robust data infrastructure and analytical frameworks.

  • Utilize an understanding of data and business to view projects through a customer- and stakeholder-centric lens.

  • Manage expectations regarding project progress and timelines, and commit to enhancing customer excellence.

  • Interpret results, develop insights, and effectively communicate findings to customers and stakeholders.

  • Select and utilize the most relevant data sources to address specific business challenges.

  • Communicate findings through various means such as dashboards, reports, data visualizations, and presentations.

  • Ensure that results are presented clearly and cater to the needs of the intended audience(s).

  • Continuously improve reporting methods to enhance insight delivery.

  • Recommend improvements for analytics and reporting processes to drive business decisions.

  • Share domain knowledge to support data consumption and leverage, and assess the viability of automated data collection methods.

  • Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance lease management tools and systems.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 2+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis

  • OR Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field

  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the datacenter industry and lease agreements.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft's cloud operations and infrastructure.

Data Analytics IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $80,900 - $162,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $105,300 - $176,900 per year.
