Our client is seeking a talented Accountant to join their expanding finance department. This role has been created to support their growth, and they are very excited about the future growth opportunities available within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a background in accounting, with specific experience in non-profit organizations handling federal grant funding. Excellent Excel skills are essential for this position. This role is a hybrid work schedule, with 1-2 days in office and at least 3 days work from home. Responsibilities

  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.

  • Prepare and post journal entries for various transactions, maintaining proper documentation and adherence to accounting principles.

  • Assist in processing payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payments to employees.

  • Serve as a backup for Accounts Payable processes, including invoice processing and vendor payments.

  • Maintain compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.

  • Support financial audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

  • Analyze financial data and prepare reports to support decision-making.

  • Collaborate with team members to improve financial processes and efficiency.

  • Ensure timely filing and compliance with federal grant funding requirements.

  • Utilize advanced Excel skills for financial analysis, reporting, and data manipulation.
