Department Of Energy Administrative Officer in Washington, District Of Columbia

Summary This position is part of the Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security and Emergency Response, Department of Energy (CR). As a Administrative Officer, you will research, develop, coordinate, execute, and oversee a variety of tasks critical to the efficiency, effectiveness, and timeliness of agency operations and of work life matters directly impacting all CR staff. Responsibilities As an Administrative Officer, you will: Manages and oversees the implementation of new federal initiatives, programs, and regulations in human Capital in support of DOE and CR's mission along with the President's Management Agenda. Promotes and ensures adherence to government-wide programs in the area of equal employment opportunity and employee- management relations designed to assure equal treatment of all employees. Directs and coordinates administrative functions within the organization ensuring programs and offices comply with all applicable policies and procedures. Provided advice on program operations and identifies and remedies problem areas, coordinates corrective actions, and directs program changes to implement program improvements as necessary. Advises senior level management on new procedures, policies, laws and regulations, time frames, short and long range plans by developing supporting documents and reports. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Specialized Experience GS-15: A qualified candidate's online resume and personnel records must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting all of the following: Determining program goals, resource needs, develops work plans, allocates resources, and accounts for their effective use; AND Establishing, implementing, and refining necessary planning and control systems to assure effective and efficient use of personnel, facilities, and other resources., AND Establishing goals, performance standards and internal controls for work carried out by the program to assure that activities meet established national objectives and priorities. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
