Summary This position is located in the Litigation Branch (LB), Legal Division of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The Litigation Branch provides litigation support for all FDIC business lines in all trial and appellate courts and pursues the FDIC’s civil professional liability claims against professionals, directors, and officers for all failed banks. Responsibilities Serves as a liaison for the Deputy General Counsel and assists Litigation Branch (LB) managers with completing and coordinating discovery activities by preparing and responding to a high volume of document requests and subpoenas, and creating related tracking reports. Plans and coordinates logistics for LB conferences and initiatives. Serves as the initial point of contact for assigned section/unit/branch program inquiries and matters, monitoring assignments, and ensures that information is provided by designated due dates. Qualifications Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 09 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience preparing and responding to high volume document requests and subpoenas, monitoring administrative programs and policies, reviewing and developing recommendations to improve organizational processes, and gathering information to generate tracking and other reports for use by staff. OR Education: Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree. OR A qualifying combination of education and specialized experience as described above, that together meet the qualification requirements for this position.
