Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced full-time photographer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a magician behind the lens as well as a team player who prioritizes collaboration and emphasizes planning and goal alignment. The candidate will have a strong background in event photography, studio photography, editorial photography, image editing, digital asset management, and basic video production and editing. This role requires a creative and detail-oriented individual who can effectively capture and convey the essence of our events and initiatives through compelling visual content.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Communications, Events, and Creative teams to create visual content that aligns with organizational goals.

  • Understand visual imagery needs and use cases; prioritize organizational resources and offer creative solutions to achieve efficiency and the scalable use of those resources.

  • Create a report back mechanism to assess use cases, leverage best practices, and create efficiencies.

  • Photograph events, meetings, studio sessions, and other activities hosted by the Chamber .

  • Generate and capture editorial-style photographs for publications, social media, and marketing materials.

  • Edit and retouch images to ensure high-quality visual content.

  • Manage and organize photos, ensuring easy access and retrieval.

  • Film and edit basic video content to support various projects and initiatives.

  • Help plan and execute visual storytelling strategies.

  • Have a network of trusted freelance photographers, scheduling them as necessary to cover additional events or projects. This includes vetting potential freelancers and ensuring that they adhere to Chamber standards and guidelines.

  • Maintain photography equipment and ensure that it is in good working condition.

  • Oversee equipment inventory and ensure timely replacements or upgrades.

  • Manage requests for photography, coordinating coverage for events and activities and ensuring the efficient use of resources and timely delivery of content. 

    Requirements:

  • Proven experience in event photography, studio photography, and editorial photography.

  • Proficient in image editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom).

  • Experience with a digital asset management system (DAM).

  • Basic video production and editing skills (Adobe Premiere).

  • Strong attention to detail and a creative eye.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • Acumen and comfort in working with senior executives, policymakers, and dignitaries. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

  • Experience and knowledge of Washington, D.C., and political events and environments.

  • Experience managing a network of freelance photographers and scheduling their assignments.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, professional environment.

  • Knowledge of current photography and video trends and techniques.

  • A strong portfolio.

    The salary range for this position is $77,949.00 to $100,000.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
