Job Description

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is on the lookout for a highly skilled Senior Acquisition Analyst with demonstrated experience supporting Department of Defense procurement agencies to join our team atJoint Base Anacostia-Bollingin Washington, DC!

As a Senior Acquisition Analyst, you will:

  • Assist government procurement agencies in developing acquisition strategies, work statements, and vendor qualification.

A week in the life of the Senior Acquisition Analyst:

  • Apply defense acquisition process knowledge to analyze and improve acquisition policies, procedures, and implement new initiatives.

  • Utilize quantitative analytical techniques to address system acquisition process issues and develop risk reduction/mitigation approaches.

  • Contribute to the development of acquisition plans, source selection documents, Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE), and requests for proposals.

  • Assist in creating pre-award technical documentation, such as solicitations, IGCE, Technical Evaluation Plan, and Technical Evaluation Report.

  • Provide senior-level insight into Federal, DoD, Dept of the Navy, and NAVAIR acquisition practices to support the Program Airborne Radar IPT.

  • Deliver accurate and compliant acquisition products, meeting Program documentation requirements and DoD file management guidelines.

  • Support Production IPT Lead in contracting, cost analysis, contract modification tracking, and proposal technical assessments.

  • Use database systems like SharePoint to track contracting actions, manage contractual documentation, and provide detailed reports to the Program Manager.

  • Assist in the budgetary process, including POM issue sheets, CARD generation, and supporting budget drills.

  • Conduct detailed technical analysis of contractor proposals, coordinate evaluations, and draft reports for Production IPTL/COR.

  • Develop or use existing cost models to determine government cost positions based on technical analysis.

  • Generate or update documents such as SOW, RFP, CDRLs, contract exhibits/attachments, cost estimates, J&A, and procurement Requests.

  • Support meetings, design reviews/audits, working groups, and briefings at other facilities as directed by Government Program Managers.

  • Coordinate with Contract Officer’s Representatives, Contracting Officer for modifications, prioritization of action items, and documentation generation.

  • Collaborate with Configuration Management personnel for necessary engineering change proposal contracting actions.

Job Requirements

  • Must have a current Top Secret/SSBI clearance with SCI eligibility.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or an Engineering Discipline and 8-10 years of experience or

  • Master’s and 3-5 years of experience

  • More than 5 years' relevant experience with a DoD agency, preferably in program acquisition/cost analysis/contracting.

  • Possess a detailed understanding of the DoD Acquisition process and a Program Office's role within that process.

  • Ability to independently determine and develop approach to solutions.

  • Must have a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts.

  • Must be able to work under only general direction.

  • Ability to provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

NOTE: This position is currently 100% on site

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
