Avantor is looking for a Trade Compliance Analyst I to join our Regulatory Affairs team. This role serves as a subject matter expert on export regulations, ensuring that both efficient and compliant controls and processes are in place. The role has a specific focus on the North America region.

This role will be a full-time remote position.

What we're looking for

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, International Logistics, a science-related or equivalent field is required

Experience: 2-3 years of experience in a dynamic trade compliance environment is required

Familiarity with SAP GTS is required

Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Office application proficiency experience required

Preferred Qualifications:

Licensed Customs Broker highly preferred

5+ years of experience

How you will thrive and create an impact As the Trade Compliance Analyst I, you will be responsible for supporting the oversight of key export activities and enforcing US export regulations. Working independently under close supervision, you will ensure the seamless movement of all export transactions using SAP GTS. Your duties will include ensuring compliance with product classification, licensing, and denied party screening. Additionally, you will serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to the export customer service and sales teams for any export-related inquiries.

Work directly with the global export group and provide compliance support related to routine day-to-day export activities, including but not limited to product classification and export documentation requirements, as well as export filing data.

Performs export business partner verification and denied party screening.

GTS implementation and support for additional plant go-lives.

Handles BIS Commodity Classification requests and export licenses.

Monitors the trade compliance mailbox for daily requests and other general trade inquiries.

Completes EEI filings and ACE reporting.

Develops, implements, and maintains programs, policies, and procedures to ensure company-wide compliance with Foreign Trade Regulations.

Provides guidance concerning the regulatory requirements and obligations of exporting under Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and Other Government Agencies.

Assists with the identification, escalation, and reporting of compliance issues.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)

Working knowledge of the following regulatory areas: US HTS, Schedule B Classifications, BIS licensing, Denied Party Screenings.

Strong knowledge of Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations.

Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and computer).

Results-driven with the ability to be proactive as well as reactive in handling the unexpected and meeting time constraints.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is $58,000.00 - $97,000.00 Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
