American Muscle Docks & Fabrication ("AMD") -- ACCOUNTING MANAGER

 

AMD is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join as Accounting Manager, leading all accounting and key financial activities. This is a growth role for the right candidate - you will report to the business unit President, with extensive interaction with our parent company leadership team.

WHAT THE ROLE DOES:

  • Support AMD's overall growth strategy and development through utilizing a hands-on approach to accounting and financial business transactions.
  • Manage day-to-day activities, e.g., general ledger entries, cost accounting, system reconciliations, etc.
  • As growth requires, hire, train, and supervise one to three people.
  • Assist and support cost improvement projects and our budgeting process.
  • Lead the month-end close process.
  • Help manage or oversee other processes including AP, AR, recording vendor invoices, etc.
  • Coordinate and provide needed information with outside auditors.
  • Provide analytical, evaluative and advisory support to enhance decision-making.
  • Generate and prepare reports, monthly financial statements; investigate and communicate variances.
  • Qualify and set up new customer accounts.
  • Perform light HR-related duties e.g., bi-weekly payroll, etc.
  • Assess and document internal controls, streamline accounting procedures and initiate change as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively and establish credibility throughout the organization, while fostering the mission, vision, and values of the business.

     

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • Bachelor's Degree - Accounting, Business or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficient in accounting and Microsoft Office (excel) software, familiarity with NetSuite highly desirable.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical thinking and understanding of business impact.
  • Highly ethical, positive cultural addition, self-motivated.
  • Local or willing to relocate to Wellsburg, West Virginia or metro-Pittsburgh area.
