Description
Robert Half is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join a growing team in West Des Moines. The Tax Accountant will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial records, returns, and reports according to state and federal laws and regulation.
Responsibilities:
Prepare federal, state, local, and special tax returns by assessing and calculating financial information.
Recommend tax strategies by studying taxation regulation and estimating tax liability.
Identify potential tax credits and savings.
Prepare tax provisions on quarterly and annual basis by calculating deferred assets and liabilities.
Handle year-end closings and assisting with planning of next fiscal year budgets.
Conduct tax audits and provide litigation support.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial and procedural audits.
Keep up-to-date with alterations in taxation laws.
Requirements
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Previous experience in Tax Accounting, or a similar role.
In-depth knowledge of state and federal tax laws and regulations.
Proficiency with accounting and tax software.
Strong math and numerical skills, with an eye for accuracy.
Excellent analytical and time management skills.
Strong ethical standards and integrity in handling company’s confidential information.
