Description: A Controls Systems Engineer job is currently available at Belcan. This job can be located onsite at our Belcan Indianapolis, IN or West Palm Beach, FL locations. This is a full-time direct position with benefits. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor's degree in a STEM program and 5 or more years of relevant experience. The desired candidate will have many years of experience designing control system algorithms for safety-critical applications. This position is to serve as a subject matter expert who can teach and mentor early career engineers in industry best practices in alignment with customer standards and tools.

Job Duties:

· Serve as a subject matter expert in the design of control laws for gas turbine engine control systems.

· Leverage industry best practices in conjunction with customer standards and tools to teach and mentor early career engineers.

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in a STEM program

· Minimum 5 years' experience designing and implementing control laws at the application level.

· Able to perform model-based design using Matlab/Simulink

· Strong experience in DO-178B/C DAL A

· Experience with DO178 Planning and Achievement documents.

· Experience in management and decomposition of system requirements to software requirements

· Well-versed in ARP 4754 and ARP 4761

· Occasional travel may be required as needed.

· Due to the nature of the work performed, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

· Experience in gas turbine control systems, but open to other applicable control law experience in a thermal or dynamic area. Automotive with functional safety would be considered.

· Experience with DO-330

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $75,000 to $125,000.
