Overall Purpose of the Role: To ensure that strategic material planning processes are in place to enable operational and production continuity. Takes a coordinating lead, working closely with internal and external parties to ensure supply of materials is in place to satisfy production requirements. Able to deliver efficient, effective, and flexible solutions to meet production requirements. This role holds people and budgetary management responsibilities. Skills and Attributes:

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or similar role.

  • strong knowledge of sourcing, contract management, and vendor negotiation.

  • Proficiency in procurement systems and tools.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workloads.

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.

  • Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain (nice-to-have).

salary: $60,000 - $75,000 per year

Responsibilities

Purchasing Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies.

  • Source and evaluate vendors, negotiate contracts.

  • Oversee procurement from order to delivery.

  • Manage supplier performance and conduct assessments.

  • Monitor inventory and ensure timely replenishment.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders.

  • Utilize procurement systems for tracking and reporting.

  • Ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Materials Planning Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and forecast materials, goods, and products.

  • Oversee production rollups and track inventory protocols.

  • Coordinate with management to forecast inventory needs.

  • Ensure strategic material planning for operational continuity.

  • Collaborate with internal and external parties for material supply.

  • Manage inventory risk and maintain contingency plans.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Ensure MRP/IT systems are effective and up to date.

  • Control inventory levels and manage obsolete parts processes.

  • Report on target achievements and take corrective actions.
