Town of West Springfield Meals on Wheels Driver in West Springfield, Massachusetts

Meals on Wheels Driver Description Works under the general direction of the Meal Coordinator and is responsible for the delivery of meals on wheels to older adult clients living in West Springfield. Examples of Duties Must be licensed to drive a motor vehicle; Must be familiar with area streets and housing complexes in West Springfield; Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and walk up and down stairs; Must be willing and able to work with people and be sensitive to older adults and adults with varying physical ability; Must be willing to inform Outreach Coordinator of issues, needs or concerns of clients; Must report to the Outreach Coordinator, or other COA staff, all clients who were not at home to receive their meals on the day of the service before leaving the COA building; Must collect all client monetary donations if given and deliver such to the COA office staff. Must keep all meal carrier equipment clean and in good repair, informing COA office staff of any issues with carrier equipment; Must ensure maintaining proper temperature of foods to clients; Must follow safe food handling protocols as directed by Serve Safe Staff; Maintains accurate record of mileage and submits such to COA office staff at the end of each month for processing. Qualifications Valid driver\'s license, access to a reliable motor vehicle, ability to deliver meals Monday - Friday 9:30am-12:30pm. Ability to climb stairs while carrying food/food carriers.
