Program Supervisor Family Shelter - West Springfield & Northampton Job Category: First/Mid Level Mgmt Requisition Number: PROGR005843 Full-Time Diversion, Shelter and Housing Programs Springfield, MA 01108, USA Job Details Description The Center for Human Development, (CHD) is seeking a Program Supervisor (PS) to join a congregate Family Shelter program the Diversion, Shelter and Housing\'s (DSH) sites in West Springfield and Northampton, MA. The PS will work within the Agency\'s team model, establishing open communication, support, and accountability among co-workers as a liaison to external providers and the community-at-large Your role as a Program Supervisor: The PS reports to the Program Manager, Main oversight includes comprehensive supervision of a team of direct care staff who work at DSH\'s two hotel-based residential family shelters. The PS will provide operations support to a shelter site serving homeless families. Maintaining awareness of site-based needs, liaises with CHD maintenance department and/or property management company regarding facilities repair and maintenance issues, as they are an important and routine service provision. The PS will also be expected to coordinate or provide transportation as needed to participants, and oversee all functions of staffing needs, included, but not limited to: On-call system Schedule sites staffing in accordance with contract guidelines Arrange coverage in the event of staff call-outs, including having to cover an unresolved staffing shortage as the acting Program Supervisor Manage overtime according to program policies Support any other additional needs and expectations of the Program Manager and/or the Assistant Director as they are presented. The successful PS will also prove an ability to be flexible, adaptable to change, and organized in operational changes as they occur. REQUIRMENTS: Previous experience working within shelter, housing, homelessness program/service Experience with staff supervision Reliable, registered & insured vehicle and approved driving record check Approved criminal background check (CORI) SUCCESS FACTORS: Seeks and uses internal and external training opportunities as required for role Participates in relevant Agency and/or community task forces Engages in self -evaluation to develop professional goals Able to react to change productively and to handle other tasks assigned due to changing environments.
