  • This position is in office 4 days a week and has the opportunity to work from home 1 day per week.

Position Purpose:

The primary responsibility of the Senior Financial Systems Analyst is to provide functional and technical support for several financial applications, including but not limited to Blackline, SAP ECC, SAP S/4, BPC/EPM, and other accounting and finance initiatives. The Systems Analyst acts as the primary liaison between Accounting/Finance group and IT. The Systems Analyst also will have a thorough understanding of the IT project lifecycle and the context in which projects fall within the Accounting group and overall organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as System Administrator for the company’s Blackline application, including administration and providing user training for Account reconciliations, Matching, Journal entries and Variance Analysis modules.

  • Support in daily administration of Business Planning & Consolidation (BPC) including balancing, new user set up, report development and general trouble shooting.

  • Assist with providing both functional and technical support to user groups of various financial systems, primarily BPC/EPM, for issues such as system configuration, ongoing maintenance, system issues and reporting.

  • Responsible for following established change control process and preparing related documentation, including such items as Change Requests, Requirements Definition Documents, and other audit related paperwork.

  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot interfaces, software bugs, reports and software customizations utilizing delivered application tools or other tools if applicable.

  • Assist in performing initial system testing and user acceptance testing for application fixes and project initiatives.

  • Ensure that high-level financial reports accurately represent company position and comply with GAAP and SOX requirements.

  • Assist with the preparation of schedules and reports in support of annual and interim audit. All schedules prepared must be adequately documented.

  • Continually improves skills in automation products by proactively seeking out and participating in user groups, webinars, automation trainings and certifications.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • An understanding of basic accounting concepts, including a good working knowledge of GAAP

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft tools such as Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.

  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills

  • Aptitude and willingness to learn new accounting systems

  • Solid work paper documentation techniques

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Provides high level of service to business partners

  • Takes ownership for all assigned areas of responsibility

  • Promotes feedback and appropriately escalates issues / conflicts to manager/supervisor

  • Stays on project schedule, estimates/manages time efficiently and effectively, and is able to handle competing priorities

  • Must be able to multi-task during monthly close processes

  • Able to adapt and contribute to organizational change in a fast-paced environment

  • Builds solid and strong relationships with business partners

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Finance, Accounting or related field from four-year college

1-2 years of relevant system administration, accounting and/or reporting, with relevant month end close experience.
