Charles Schwab Sr. Manager, Software Development & Engineering Sr. in Westlake, Texas

Duties : Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs for use in financial domain. Coordinate with offshore team members, onsite, and near shore team members, actively engage in the daily (Agile process) huddle. Contribute actively to the preparation and maintenance of Agile scrum and Kanban boards. Review design and code from team members. Assist team with requirement gathering, formulate design, develop code and complete testing. Work closely with end-to-end testing team to ensure application integration testing is covered. Work with PO (Product Owners) to gather requirements and help convert them to manageable tasks (stories in Agile). Work with Performance Engineering teams and Infrastructure teams to ensure application performs well. Create technical design for software and present to design review board. Coordinate with testing team to ensure quality deployment of code into production environment and supporting business queries. Support production deployment and validate the results. Position allows for partial remote work. Must live within reasonable commuting distance. Reports to company office in Westlake, TX. Subject to Schwab’s internal approach to workplace flexibility.

Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.

Salary: $161,200 to $246,800 per year

What you have

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Requires 5 years of progressive, post-Bachelor’s related experience, which must include some experience in each of the following skills: DATACOM and E2E testing with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load); ChangeMan tool to package deployment code and Remedy tool to create tickets for deployments; Mainframe technologies - COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS, and DB2; Mainframe supporting languages - EASYTRIEVE, SPUFI, and REXX; Mainframe supporting tools - Xpeditor, Control-M, CA-file manager, FTP/SFTP, NAS, and TOAD; and, Atlassian suite of products, including JIRA and Confluence.
