Primary purpose of the position:

The Metal Finance and Accounting Manager will be responsible for all financial aspects of Raw Materials costs and passthrough for the $3.5 billion NCA annual spend. This includes management of forecasting, budgeting, and month end processes, including direct oversight of accounting activities. This role will work closely with leadership across procurement, planning, operations, and finance to deliver results. Additionally, this leader will work directly with Europe and South America to consolidate reporting and understand key drivers of performance.

Essential Responsible Areas:

  • Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts for metal-related activities, in coordination with cross-functional teams, to achieve business objectives and optimize financial performance. Drive forecasting and accounting process improvements (NCA and Global).

  • Oversee financial analysis and reporting of metal-related financial data, providing insights, recommendations, and risk assessments to leadership for informed decision-making.

  • Analyze monthly financial results and provide detailed explanations of performance vs plan.

  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders on metal mix and metal inventory management.

  • Support global toll metal implementations leveraging learnings from NCA.

  • Lead global standardization of metal reporting and consolidation of metal profitability analysis.

  • Collaborate with Treasury, Planning, and Procurement to manage risk via hedges and other financial instruments.

  • Lead commercial analysis of metal passthrough revenue mechanism alignment with cost.

  • Responsible for systems management and implementation of global cost tracking tools maintenance and roll out to facilitate a analysis of the $7 billion + annual global raw materials spend (including but not limited to the Metal Cube). Collaborate with IT to develop improvements to systems, automate work flows and reports and drive efficiency and data integrity throughout the process.

  • Participate in metal-related audits, financial reporting, and other ad-hoc financial projects, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as needed and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls related to metal operations, and proactively address any potential issues or risks.

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance,Accounting, or relevant fieldwith a preference towards Master's degree in Finance or Accounting.

  • Minimum of 5 years years experience doing financial planning and analysis or cost accounting.

  • Minimum of 5 years years experience doing data analysis.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated skill in data analysis and problem solving.

  • Demonstrated skill in financial analysis.

  • Demonstrated skill in financial modelling and use of microsoft suite.

  • Demonstrated skill in preparing presentations of financial analysis to summarize information for decision makers.

  • Demonstrated skill in leading people.

  • Working knowledge of relevant financial regulations.

  • Working knowledge of accounting standards.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). [Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.]

  • Hiring Salary Range: $106,100 - $161,920 (Salary to be determined by the applicants education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)

  • This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
