Responsibilities
Location: Wichita, KS (Onsite)

Key Accountabilities:
Responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of Safety Risk Management (SRM) and Voluntary Disclosures. This will include co-authoring Spirit’s SMS manual and supporting procedure documents
Provide successful implementation of a suitable SMS across global sites and product lines
Become Spirit’s Subject Mater Expert on SMS industry standards and the acceptable means of compliance to impending SMS mandates from global regulators
Integrate engineering processes that support Production Quality Management Systems, Notifications of Escapements, and structural strength substantiations with Safety Risk Management (SRM) processes. Familiarity with Bow-Tie analysis and Hazard Assessments desired
Oversee the engineering aspects of SRM and Safety Assurance process
Ability to train a diverse audience on SMS fundamentals
Ability to produce effective process definition documents
Develop and Release Spirit’s SMS manual that meets EASA review deadlines in support of compliance dates
Qualifications
Requirements :
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited Engineering program is required
5+ years of related experience with the Bachelor's Degree or 3+ years of related experience with a Master's Degree (please note that even with a Master's Degree the Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited Engineering program is still required)
Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years of related experience
Proven ability to successfully implement new processes, with changing requirements, on a team with a wide variety of stakeholders
Experience with aircraft safety analysis, structural verification, Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA), and hazard assessments
Familiarity with aircraft certification activities that support Maintenance, Repair, & Overhaul (MRO), Type, and Production certificates
Familiarity with engineering document release activities
