Turner Mining Group Equipment Superintendent in Williamsburg, Virginia

You will be responsible for the leadership, coordination, and support of technicians in the field and the shop to ensure excellence in our maintenance practices and fleet management, and that those goals and objectives are accomplished safely within the scheduled timeframe and budget.

Responsibilities:

• Leads field and shop operations to ensure the team is working safely, efficiently, and productively at all times.

• Ensures our fleet represents our Image of Excellence, and that all maintenance is being performed both to industry and company standards.

• Coordinates and collaborates with field and shop technicians on logistical and technical issues.

• Supervises field mechanics, equipment field and shop managers, and overall equipment field and shop operations.

• Serves as a subject matter expert and technical advisor to all field and shop equipment employees.

• Supports Equipment Manager running daily operations.

• Ensures all technicians comply with Safety Program and Operational Standard Operating Procedures.

• Supports projects with urgent equipment issues to ensure they are addressed timely, and maintain communication with Equipment Manager regarding updates and resource needs.

• Manages and provides status updates on down list and proactively check in on larger repairs to minimize downtime.

• Plans and leads department safety meetings for shop and field operation.

• Oversees the periodic inspection processes, e.g. state and fleet tire inspections, to ensure compliance with applicable guidelines and take corrective action as necessary.

• Reviews resource schedule to ensure all shifts are adequately supported by field and shop operations.

• Manges field and shop mechanic's productivity.

• Demonstrates technical proficiency with maintenance of construction equipment.

• Communicates performance expectations for productivity, quality, and safety to Technicians and ensures progress towards expectations.

• Responsible for operating company vehicle (Ford F-150).

• Approximately 80% of work time is anticipated to be field-based.

• Approximately 20% of work time is anticipated to be office-based at our main regional shop in Williamsburg, VA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Technical school degree in diesel or related heavy truck or construction maintenance highly preferred.

• Minimum 10 years of construction equipment and heavy truck repair and maintenance experience, along with at least 2 years of supervisory experience required.

• Must possess expert-level knowledge of the function, operation, and maintenance of construction equipment

• Valid driver's license required.
