BRODART IT HELPDESK SUPPORT SPECIALIST in WILLIAMSPORT, Pennsylvania

Position Title:  IT HELPDESK SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Under general supervision, performs a variety of computer systems administration and support tasks, including analyzing, constructing, documenting, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting and supporting of PC hardware, operating systems, software applications, peripherals, phone system(s), network connectivity, and communication devices for the entire organization.

  • Setup, install, configure, test, and deploy computer hardware, peripherals, and software applications.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and address PC hardware, software, email, network connectivity, communication devices, phone systems, and backup issues.
  • Create and maintain user accounts for network access or permissions to network resources such as email, shared drives, and applications while ensuring proper security permissions are applied.
  • Monitor, Answer, and Respond to help desk inquiries, including in-person requests, phone calls, emails, text messages, or any other form of communication used to request assistance.
  • Maintain asset management records for computer systems and peripherals deployed to users
  • Monitor and respond to system alerts, engaging senior technical resources when required
  • Create and maintain documentation related to common procedures, troubleshooting, and common knowledge base articles used in troubleshooting or maintaining hardware or software.
  • Ensure compliance with software licensing.
  • Run and terminate new network or communication cables for new workstations or when replacement is required.
  • Learn and maintain assigned software applications required to support business functions.
  • Perform or participate in PC / workstation software upgrades and key infrastructure technology including but not limited to network and communication systems.
  • Lead or participate in user orientation and training as it relates to learning and understanding company technology and procedures.
  • Participate in the evaluation and recommendation for upgrades to computer systems and communication devices.
  • Cross training and substitution of tasks that may be of higher classification as required.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in computer science or PC technology or 2-5 years experience working in a similar capacity and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Good technical understanding of client operating systems (Windows XP,7,10, MAC OS, and some Linux).
  • Good working knowledge of client operating systems (Windows 7, Windows 10, Chrome OS and Mac OS).
  • Working knowledge of network infrastructure, including standard administrative tools such as security protocols, file structures, backup procedures, remote access configurations and web browser configuration.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and Exchange email systems, including advanced tools.
  • Good working knowledge of telecommunications and phone systems.
  • Introductory knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server and Linux).
  • Experience supporting mobile device and client operating systems (Android and IOS).
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Positive Attitude and good communication skills across all levels of the organization, customer oriented.
  • Normal office environment, close and distant vision, using hands and fingers to handle and feel, talk and hear, sitting, lifting up to 10 lbs. frequently. Standing and walking, lifting up to 25 lbs. occasionally. Occasional exposure to a production environment that may be subject to varied temperatures and other conditions, such as noise, dust, paint/finish, and glue or adhesive.
