Position Summary The HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting various HR functions, includingrecruitment and selection, compensation and benefits, training and development, healthand safety and HR compliance. As HR Generalist, you will collaborate with differentdepartments to ensure the smooth implementation of HR policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate is an energetic, servant leader with a passion for recruiting, galvanizing ateam, translating company culture and supporting the growth and development of this facilityfrom the ground up.

General Duties/Responsibilities

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatorytraining, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safetytraining, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams andcertifications.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for openpositions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills andcompetencies required for openings.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resourceprograms including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave;disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talentmanagement; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health andsafety; and training and development.
  • Understand and be able to execute the complete payroll cycle, including collectingand reviewing time and attendance data and processing payroll accurately and ontime.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, andsupervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws andregulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices tomaintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and newtechnologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Food Safety and Quality Responsibilities

  • Follow GMP policy when in the production facility and encourage your team to dothe same.
  • Understand our SQF policies relating to pest control, visitors, allergenmanagement, and cleaning and sanitation.
  • Demonstrate awareness of Management's Commitment to SQF and worktowards Food Safety and Quality and help the company meet this commitment.
  • If there is a problem that involves food quality and safety, report to the QualityAssurance Manager Manager so that the CAPA (corrective action, preventativeaction) log may be filled out, the situation be investigated, and resolved withthe goal of continuous improvement of food quality and safety.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proficiency with or ability to learn the organization's HRIS system.
  • Knowledge of employment- related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in human resources, business administration, or a combinationof education an experience.
  • 3-5 years of human resource management experience is preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR is a plus.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
