NYS Teaching Certification or Pending Certification in Special Education Grades 1-6
Experience with a variety of instructional techniques
Ability to reach all types of learners
Ability and commitment to use technology as an instructional tool
Classroom management skills
Excellent communication skills

Special Education B-2 Certification
POSITION SUMMARY
(Not Inclusive):
Provide special education students with learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential. Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to match student ability levels. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students. Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers. May also direct the work of instructional aide(s).
POSITION EFFECTIVE:
September 2024
APPOINTMENT STATUS:
Probationary, Full Time, 10 Month
SALARY:
$40,000 - $44,000
