WSP USA Senior Professional, Strategic Pursuits Manager in Winnipeg, Manitoba

The Opportunity:

WSP is currently seeking a Strategic Pursuits & Alternative Project Delivery Coordinator for our

Transportation & Infrastructure business line. Working within our Strategic Pursuits and Alternative Project Delivery group (SP+APD), this position will support implementation of strategic initiatives and manage the win cycle (Capture Management, Expression of Interest (EOI), Statements of Qualifications (SOQs), Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs)) of major opportunities.

The Strategic Pursuit Manager is a client-facing role where you will be mentored and empowered to own the development of major project pursuit programs, interfacing with internal and external

stakeholders like engineering joint-venture partners, subconsultants and design-builders to develop winning proposals. Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategic Pursuits & Alternative Project Delivery, this is a pivotal role with high visibility within the organization.

The Strategic Pursuit Manager will assist in developing broader operational excellence activities such as processes and procedures, platforms, and systems. The Strategic Pursuit Manager will also develop

relationships with internal stakeholders including corporate services, marketing, commercial, and

operations to gather requirement, establish workflows, and maintain communication.

As a member of the Transportation & Infrastructure business line, you will be given opportunities to

apply your skills and experience on some of WSP’s largest and most complex projects across a wide

variety of sectors (including bridges, highways & roads, rail & transit, water & wastewater, and ports & marine). You will be challenged to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and provide high quality support.

What you can expect do here:

  • Working with the Senior Director, Strategic Pursuits & Alternative Project Delivery to coordinateimplementation of strategic initiatives;

  • Managing the win cycle of Major Projects from developing capture strategy, negotiating schedules,articulating win themes, and coordinating internal and external stakeholders;

  • Reviewing and tracking of requirements to ensuring compliance with Bid guidance documentation;

  • Developing content (including writing, proofreading and formatting) and managing input fromsubject matter experts;

  • Developing work plans, delivery schedules, arranging and facilitating meetings and workshops, developing meeting agendas, answering critical correspondence, and collecting lessons learned;

  • Developing and maintaining Strategic Pursuits & Alternative Project Delivery content libraries forhistoric project information, past submittals, statistics, and lessons learned;

  • Participating on internal and client bid management committees and colour reviews (Pink, Red, Gold) as the Design Team Representative to relay critical information, deliver updates, and manage expectations;

  • Managing input from and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization including seniormanagement, shared services and multi-disciplinary technical teams;

  • Maintaining good working relationships with internal and external stakeholder groups that supportstrategic initiatives;

  • Researching, capturing, and analyzing industry intelligence (opportunities, competitors, partners)to develop and improve processes, procedures, and best practices.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • 5 or more years of experience in proposal development or similar environment. Candidates withprevious experience working in Engineering Consulting or Professional Services firms are preferred;

  • Understanding of Alternative Delivery contact models (Design-Build (DB); Public Private Partnership (P3); Progressive Design-Build (PDB), Progressive P3, Alliance, and IPD) is desirable;

  • Bachelor’s Degree, technical degree or equivalent work experience (project management,construction management, engineering, finance, or relevant field) is an asset;

  • Strong project management skills, the ability to establish priorities, set and manage schedules, andcoordinate multiple projects concurrently;

  • Strong interpersonal skills, as the role requires continuous interaction with team members, projectleadership, and external clients/stakeholders;

  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal, including report and contract writing,editing, and proofreading abilities;

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills;

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint and cloud-based technology.Adobe Suite is an asset;

  • PMP or similar designation is an asset;

  • Knowledge of ProjectWise and/or SharePoint document management is an asset.
