Robert Half Accounting Specialist in Wyoming, Michigan

Description We are looking for a meticulous Accounting Specialist to join our team in the Wholesale Distribution - Dur Goods industry. Based in Wyoming, Michigan, this role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for managing accounts receivable and accounts payable, providing backup support for payroll processing, and assisting in the preparation of monthly financial reports.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts receivable, including generating and sending out invoices to clients, following up on outstanding receivables, and maintaining accurate records of client payments.

• Handle accounts payable processing duties, such as processing vendor invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and maintaining vendor relationships.

• Provide backup support for payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payroll transactions.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations, maintaining organized and up-to-date documentation for all financial transactions.

• Use your skills in Microsoft Excel, Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Billing Functions, and Check Processing to perform tasks efficiently.

• Handle any accounting-related inquiries from employees and resolve financial discrepancies.

• Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and support. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Must have experience in handling Accounting Functions

• Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is needed

• Experience in Billing Functions is a must

• Skills in Check Processing are necessary

• The candidate should have a degree in Accounting or a relevant field

• Must have strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent problem-solving abilities are required

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is needed

• Knowledge of wholesale distribution industry will be an advantage

• A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is required

• Should be able to handle confidential information responsibly.
