Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and experienced Maintenance Technicians to join our team for the 2nd and 3rd shifts. In this role, you will support all aspects of the local Maintenance team and report directly to the Operations Manager. You will be actively involved on the shop floor, collaborating with the maintenance team as needed.

Shift Descriptions

  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm

  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 pm - 6:00 am (working 50 hours a week starting from the second week)

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal functionality

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve potential issues

  • Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs

  • Install, adjust, and maintain production equipment and machinery

  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies

  • Assist in training and coaching new and current employees

  • Utilize and understand the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Essential Skills

  • Three or more years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment

  • Ability to perform maintenance operations through planning, scheduling, and monitoring labor productivity

  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment

  • Experience in Hydraulics and PLCs

  • Electrical experience

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Comfort with computers and programs like Office and Excel

  • Strong communication skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to work any shift is preferred

  • Experience in service, conveyor, installation, industrial, welding, and electrical troubleshooting

  • Knowledge of 3-phase and 480V systems

  • Proficiency in maintenance technician tasks, including electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints

  • Motor repair skills

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Two years of industrial maintenance experience

  • PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus

Work Environment

This position requires working on the 2nd and 3rd shifts in a heavy steel manufacturing environment. The facility is dirty and not well lit, featuring a mix of new and old equipment. The team consists of 50+ full-time workers, with roughly 120 people in production, including full-time and temporary staff.
