Title: Part-Time Lecturer (Aviation) Employee Classification: LL - Adjunct Lecturer Pay Grade: LL 00 Division: Academic and Student Affairs Subdivision: School of Tech Prof Services Mngmt Department: College of Eng & Technology Campus Location: Main Campus General Summary The Eastern Michigan University School of Technology and Professional Services Management invites applications for a Part-time Lecturer for the Aviation Program. The successful candidate will teach core Aviation courses including but not limited to Aircraft Aerodynamics, Aviation Safety, Crew Resource Management and other Aviation Ground Instruction courses in compliance with FAA Part 141 certification requirements. Further consideration may be given to those with the ability to teach or assist in other academic areas as determined by candidate expertise. This part-time appointment (no benefits) will begin in the Fall 2024 semester. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Teaching may include a number of particular obligations which employees are expected to fulfill, including but not limited to: meeting with students during and outside of assigned classes, assessing student work and performance, preparing syllabi and course materials, providing copies of syllabi and course materials to their supervisor on request, and assigning and submitting grades in accordance with established Eastern Michigan University schedules.
Perform related departmental duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor of Science Degree with a concentration in Aviation or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree
College or university teaching experience.
CFI and/or CFII Certification.
Part 141 Instruction Experience.
The department/school may approve exceptions or equivalencies that demonstrate relative background in academic research and/or professional accomplishments on a case-by-case basis. Special Instructions: Applicants should submit a cover letter and resume. Appointment Percentage: 100%
